At least in india there are no courses offered as for as i know i am in the industry for last 40years.The best you can do is purchase Pump engineering hand book published by M/s McGrawHills and there is another Basic Book Electrical engineering practice Vol 2 where the the auther has explained the very Basics of Pumps and pomping design, written by Mr.BVS Rao ,and you have to teach yourself with ample field exposure.

best of luck

Check with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at your local university.

Post#2 &#3 give you the best advice.

If you find no such ready course-go to a smart Ph.D Hydraulics lecturer at your nearest Engg College - and take a private 2-day intensive course.

If you cannot organize that too,-please contact me at :

I do not know of any courses available in India, but would suggest the following reading.

  • Pump handbook. Karassik et al ISBN 0-07-033301-7
  • Centrifugal and Axial flow pumps. Stepanoff ISBN 0 471 82137 3
  • Centrifugal pumps. Design and Application. Lobanoff & Ross.ISBN 0-87201-190-9

There are many more, but these should be adequate for most. There is also and awful lot of information out there on the Web.
