SA537 cl.1 CE<0.43 Project Requirement

Dear All, Can anybody tell that what problem manufacture face for meeting Carbon Equivalent project requirement<0.43 for SA537Cl.1. ASME code allows C.E<0.57.

The problem is that the project requirement is more stringent than the standard and you will have to find out if this is feasible and how you can achieve this.

SA537CL1 refer to a plate, with this specification the plates are readily available in the market and you can purchase easily. But if you deviate from the code the plates are to be manufactured for your need specifically. So many of the manufacturers refuse to do that. This may be the reason.

The reason may also be that the customers don't know how to interpret the code, nor how to work with their suppliers to get what they need.

You must be aware that a code is a minimum requirement. If the client requires more stringent rules, then that becomes the minimum standard. So always consult client notes to become aware of what you have to do
