Ring your welding rod supplier, then. I'm not going to do that for you, because that might make you lazy, and we don't want that, do we?

Then ring the supplier in the country where you do get your welding supplies! You can make overseas calls, can't you?

So let me see if I understand you correctly. No welding rod supplier in your country understands your problem so you came to CR4 looking for an answer you can understand. You pose what you understand about your situation to CR4. Our replies are for requests for more information and providing you with links to other cites on filler metals. You provide neither additional information or demonstrate any comprehension of the information provided in the other links.

I think I see the problem. I'm sure you don't see the problem.

Have a nice day.

Since you ask us I say that you shouldn't do any welding at all. The people you should be asking are your supervisor, engineer, customer or welding supplier/teacher. We also have no idea what quality of a weld must be performed between these metals. A simple tack weld maybe sufficient or a helium leak check might be needed to make sure the UHV vacuum will be possible. It is also possible that either or both of these dissimilar metals are not compatible for this job.

Why not braze? Why not silver-solder? Why not tin solder? How about low-melt? You've told the forum absolutely nothing about what you want to assemble. There are dozens of ways to stick two MIT's of metal together. Hot rivet? Cold rivet? How about impact adhesive? Plastic Padding? Epoxy? 5-min epoxy? Cyanoacrylate? I could go on, but I won't.

When in doubt, I always go with the larger number.

So, 588 Gr.A it is then.

There's a good lad. Carry on!

What is the fluid service (ie, air or water or steam or exhaust gas or something else) and design temperature?
