Augmented Reality Windows to Enhance Transportation Experience

03/14/2016 9:48 AM

I have seen a version of this in cruise ship advertisements. If you stay in an interior cabin with no window, the cruise line provides you with a virtual window, e.g., a flat screen that streams live pictures of the scenery you're missing. The technology isn't exactly cutting edge ... but I really don't like the idea that I might have to watch an ad before I could watch scenery. I'd pay more for a ticket on the Hyperloop just to avoid advertising!

Or save some money and just get a video to watch at home on the TV.

It's just not the same as a live view, kind of like watching a fireworks display on TV.

Our member Ky had this idea some time ago for advertising, in tunnels I believe.

Maybe he patented it.
