There are actually folks out there who will salivate, and drool down their shirts over that bike. Do take good care of her.

Wow, that one looks like it is in really good shape. Sometimes, the bikes are worth more 'unrestored'. A lot of people's restorations go a lot further than the bike when it rolled off the factory floor.

The CA160, one of the great little cruising bikes of the 60's, I would have bought one, but RN pay would not run to having a car and a bike.....sadly!!

Italy produced similar attractive bikes of a similar performance, most of which I have forgotten the names of - Capriolo? and some others.....

Working in a motorcycle shop after school in the early 60s, we started by selling Honda 50s to the British public, very successfully too, they were snapped up by anyone requiring an economical, reasonably priced, electric start, with the speed of a moped or slightly better at 40 odd MPH, with reasonable shielding from the weather......many are still in use I believe.

I remember when we had to repair one (very seldom!), how each part was made beautiful by polishing and a fine finish, it was like working on a giant, petrol fueled, Swiss watch.....I was used to the insides of Triumph engines, parts were finished just to work, not to look at.....The internals were an image from a new world.

Are modern Honda engine parts made so well still?

At the end of the day, the nearest I ever got to owning one was selling one to my brother, who used it for daily 60 mile round trips into central london in all weathers and seasons for several years, while an apprentice. It was an easy to ride, attractive little bike.....Women loved them......

Apologies for going off at a tangent, but I like and respect Japanese technology and have driven their cars for many, many years....new and secondhand, never had a bad one!!!

Don't most Japanese made cars and motorcycles only die when the sheet metal falls off? Or if the owner was some girl who never learned where the oil dipstick was, or that the car contained oil, or that the oil needed changing once in a blue moon.

I am sure that there is a lot of truth in what you say. I sold my Mazdas on in the 70's once they were 2 years old.....but their engine/mechanics were well above average for the day.....

My next truck will likely be a Toyota, although the figures for the new Dodge Rams look pretty impressive.

Very interesting...thanks for sharing....

I got my manual and now need to find a good, reasonable source for parts. I need a carb kit first and need to clean out the gas tank...

Talk to the folks at "Antique Archeology", they are pickers, and they love motorcycles. Nobody love meteorcycles.
