How about a seminar on how to use search engines on the internet....it could be a real learning experience for you....

Here's a project idea you could attempt in computer engineering: Why do so many computer engineers seem to not know anything about Harry Nyquist and Claude Shannon. Here's a hint, it has something to do with the Z transform.

Try your car control project, for a school or University project it has a lot going for it (programming, hardware, electrical design and control, research, etc). Scale as needed to meet course requirements or personal ability (basic concept and model up to say theoretical cost-effective product line covering different types of vehicles).

Not able to get any, and you seek to be an engineer? Try accounting, plenty of work there.

Accounting is far too difficult for OP. All those numbers and columns and all.

I'd suggest plumbing.

You only need to know 3 things to be a plumber.

1. Smell goes up.

2. Turds go down.

3. Payday is on Friday.

Design a new computer architecture that will be the new standard to replace Microsoft Windows. Start from scratch, so your ideas aren't limited. Think about the problems with Windows, Apple and Linux and improve on all of them. No blue screen or crashes. Virus free. Spam free. Easy to use. Hand gesture inputs. Voice recognition. Runs off a new non Intel computer chip. Uses very little RAM. Is portable. Runs and looks the same if on a laptop, desktop, pad or phone.

That would be a great project and if you have a semester to complete it, you should be able to get it done.

Make an optical computer running on nothing but light. No standard electronic chips allowed.

We already have them. The problem they haven't figured out yet is how to test the running computer without using electronics or stopping the light.

Well that makes it sound like a lot of 1's and 0's with nowhere to go, doesn't it?

Kinda hard to have optical data storage when the lights go out?

I heard a blurb on NPR yesterday about a computer this is optical based, and can even be re-programmed, something about metal atoms trapped in a magnetic bottle.

Yep, and they use electronics to test this optical computer and they stop light beams when they perform this testing.

Hey, is that a broken bathtub?
