Nissan to Introduce Auto-Drive Features in 2018

12/10/2016 3:02 PM

Nissan is introducing semi-autonomous driving features in 2018. Looks like self driving cars are about to become a lot more common on the highways...

This is a solution in search of a problem.

If people are too lazy or incompetent to drive, then they should take a bus.

We are becoming a society of helpless people, driving cars we don't begin to understand and can't possibly ever repair, using cell phones when we should be driving.

Call me old fashioned.

Hey, it's the perfect package deal--cell phones + robot cars.

I can't see it ever working unless something is laid in the road to control and direct each vehicle, such as is done with computer controlled Skytrains now.

To hand control of 10 million or 20 million or 253 million (that's the total number of cars and trucks on US roads at present) unguided missiles to random developers of buggy software is a recipe for hell on earth.

And we already know they won't own the death and destruction they cause.

A recommended safety feature for drivers who loves to text, chat, etc., while driving.

I hope I never see the day when a parade is going by it has classic cars being towed on trailers.

There is a job opportunity here for those electromechanical engineers who can come up with a plug in self driving defeat device for all of the rest of us who enjoy piloting our own cars.
