Its interesting, I have read that with some basic information about an individual, its not too difficult to cypher out an individuals SSN.

The biggest problem is that its ignored if the hack helps their platform, and only becomes an issue (if there is even an issue) when things don't go there way.

More then likely its taken out of context to support a liberal platform. But maybe you just brought it up to someone that would just agree with you.

He's a psychopathic idiot who actually believes he's the smartest man alive.

Problem is there are so many ignorant, disillusioned people out there who believe his lies and can't see that he will reap billions of dollars for himself and his family and cost taxpayers trillions with his half baked programs that have only his brief attention span and no substance.

That he has converted many poor fools over to his way of thinking is evident by some childish statements made here by some.

Hitler, Mussolini ans Stalin did it, and now he has too, only by theft and treason!

Yeah, they are definitely at it again!
I can tell from my blog, the usual hit rate is about 250 per day, mostly from Europe and USA.
Last few days it's been about 900 a day from Russia!
This also happened a while back for a few weeks.

A friend of mine, had a website for his small side business, that basically he just shut it down because it was hacked and could not correct it. And this was 4 years ago.

Re: The Internet is Safe; Your Data is Secure.

12/15/2016 7:33 AM

This has to be the nuttiest of all the nutty fake news we've seen over the past year.

No one is saying that election itself was hacked. Trump won. End of story. I've never been a fan of Trump, but I'm not hiding under the bed crying about the results.

The NBC story linked above doesn't name the department of these 'U S Officials', nor does it provide the names of those officials. Nothing about the story is credible. The 'hacking' referred-to in the article wasn't even hacking per se, it was leaked emails from the DNC - and no proof is given that the Russians were involved in the leak.

No one has revealed any confirmed evidence that the Russians hacked Hillary's emails. The guy at the head of Wikileaks - Assange - says it was NOT the Russians.

The most likely scenario is that someone in Hillary's inner circle deliberately leaked Hillary's emails - i.e., the password to her server - and gave the info to Wikileaks. From there it was probably easy to get to the DNC emails.

The one person responsible for all of this mess isn't Trump or Putin. It's Hillary herself.

She flagrantly disregarded the rules - and common sense - by setting up a private unsecured server. The most likely reason she did this was to hide the connections between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation, to avoid FOI investigations into the access she was selling while she was Sec'y of State.

She's the one who has created the embarrassment around the US elections and broke the law. She ought to go to prison. And the other people at the DNC who colluded to keep Bernie from getting the nomination deserve to be in prison too.

Wait till lyn posts a different thread about fake news.

If lyn did any kind of investigation, he'd find the evidence is nothing more than patterns and is actually old news nothing yet to tie it to the Russians.

But it makes lyn feel good.

I don't believe leaders should interfere with another country's election either.

And the hypocrite you are is the reason why this doesn't get you mad like you are now.

You should take your liberal friends and go back into a room and just agree with each other. That always makes you feel better.

Today's "news" is that the CIA has stated that it will not send anyone to testify before Congress about any information they have about Russian hacking related to the election.

So... the CIA (assuming it's the CIA that's involved) will leak stories to the press (without providing any details or sources) about a foreign government exerting influence in the US - but won't testify to their bosses about it?

Bwaaaahaaaahaaahaaahaaa.

Mr Fakey McFakestory must be their NBC liaison.

On Thursday morning, Trump tweeted out proclaiming that “the United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time that the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.”

Rich, really rich.

Listen snowflake, nuclear capability has always been a bargain chip. Only difference is, it is now being negotiated by a businessman. And one that you despise.

If you continue, then start a thread in the break room and stop polluting legitimate threads.

Getting back to the original post, the reality is that the really good hackers do not leave a trace unless they are sloppy or stupid (which rules out being really good). Unless some bozo wants to expose his ego, they remain anonymous to each other and to the world.

All this blather about the CIA, NSA, DIA, XYZ "determining" that Russia (or any other gov't entity) hacked someone's server/account is (BS)2, after all if they "knew" it was happening, why didn't they take any action to stop it. Sure they can see the internet traffic from any region in the world, and can even correlate the traffic to a particular event, but proving that that traffic is related to the event is problematic since the physical location of the hackers is not necessarily the virtual location.

In many cases traffic emanating from an easily identifiable location is just a smoke screen to draw attention from the actual event. It is also naive to think that these hacks took place during a single event, when in fact they were most likely coordinated attacks involving multiple players (who don't know each other) in geographically diverse areas across many time zones and took days, weeks, or months to perform; i.e., it looked like "normal" traffic to any NOC (Network Operation Center), not "Hey look at this, 1 billion records being transferred to a certain account!" And let's not forget that this type of traffic is most likely encrypted and traveling across many paths, which makes any intercepted messages garbage unless all of them are captured AND the cipher is known.

It's just news, folks, and we all know how distorted the news is, sheesh.
