Fuel pump

08/11/2007 9:54 AM

Anybody know where I can get a replacement fuel pump for a Honda GX340 max diesel engine and how much it will cost. It is for a WT-DT40 trash pump which Honda don't make any more and I'm having difficulty in finding spares on the net.

Or can you change the diaphragm easily. I've taken the pump off but don't want to start dismantling the thing only to find out I need a special Honda tool to do the job.

Check eBay from time to time.

I do not know the engine at all, but could not a fuel pump from another source (electric maybe) takeover the job? What are the reasons that it has to be exactly the same.

If only the diaphragm is damaged, find a bigger one and cut it to size.....

Re: Fuel pump? Are your talking about the fuel supply pump or diesel injector pump. It is possible to install an electric fuel pump to replace a mechanical pump on some diesel engines. Make sure the new electrical Pump has the correct Flow/Pressure specifications/requirements needed for this engine. Make a Steel plate with gasket to fit and bolt over the old removed fuel hole pump to seal this area on the motor. If this failure is for your Injection pump, this failure always requires the installation of a new or rebuilt pump available from a reputable Diesel Rebuild service company, and don't forget to replace the fuel filter to insure no foreign particles get into injectors.

Most diesels use a fuel system made by Bosch, ND, or Diesel Kiki,

need numbers off the pump! Honda wann't the only one to use that pump.
