Neat.

Several times I was glad I wasn't driving with that sun on the horizon and a sharp turn hidden in the shade.

the injected V-10 that easily revs past 8K is a well balanced piece of engineering.

I thought I heard a wheel hop, or was that a hump in the pavement ? Either way, the car may be too fast and the course may have reached its time life limit.

that track has been the gold stand since the 1920's!. I think it has several runs left in it. you witnessed a record sub 7 minute run because of the high tech wheel power vectoring system on the Huracan, so it isn't just about horsepower. I was quite impressed how this little car just ate the track up and never seemed to lose grip.

That car is NOT too fast for that track! I think the record there is around 402 km/h.

I suspect your record speed is for a F1 or Le Mans race vehicle. I believe this Lamborghini is a street legal "production" model.

I quote "the Lamborghini Huracán Performante and it has just smashed the lap record set by a production - buy-it-from-a-showroom - car "

Re: Ripping Up The Ring

If you go back to the video and start at 05:15 to 05:65 you will see that on a straight section of track, the vehicle experiences wheel hop and or the vehicle becomes airborne. Clearly this is a loss of control.

The problem may be the track surface, which in that case a rebuild or resurface may be required.

If the vehicle is at fault then the vehicles speed cannot be constrained by the tracks limitations or the vehicles ability to control the speed that the track allows.

You might want to contact Rob Lay at Ferrari chat and ask him to review the video. He is the Owner / Administrator of that site.
