How about "freaking outrageously stuck"?

The mfr who wrote the sizing sheet might be the best contact to ask, especially if they gave a phone number.

SF = safety factor is perhaps more common. FOS also means "full of <something>".

LOL - It reminds me of the urinal warning signs about how not to use the urinal.

Dawg stepped on my package when I was getting out of bed Sunday morning. It still hurts!

No, you may not pass. Go back and repeat the saying three more times.

Factor Of Safety was common terminology when I was in structural steel.

Yes, or that, quite right.

Frankly, I don't care anymore, since OP has left the building (again).

It means you're too lazy to pick up the phone and ask the individual who wrote the sheet.

I know what FOSOB means, but that is probably not it for your FOS.

Could it mean "Fails to Open, Sadly"? Or could it mean, "Fails Open, Sir"?

It is likely that the FAIL OPEN SPRING(FOS) is 1.25 X force required against fluid in service for the rating of the attached valve?

Who gave you that information, and where can you retrieve it?
