You should, for obvious reasons. No America, no help during WWII. Simple as that.

Here's your raspberry!

Oh it'll be a cinch.. just gotta get a tabloid "journalist" on it.

They'll report the facts without even leaving their psychic chamber.

Photos too, but those can get pricy.

I mean splicing a hillbilly into a working position that's believable could take a LOT of work.

complicite, or complacent?

LOL, that safety hat has attributes, including shade, deflecting raspberries cast from on high, but none of the

ordinary attributes associated with a bonafide hard hat, sorry, but no style points were given.

I see you got that from the same place I got mine, 1-5. It is also just like you to not opt for 1-5, and provide option 6.

I provide for you option 9. PM me, and I will explain to you what option 9 is. It goes back to the old fighter squadron I was in (in the Aces High II game). It has to do with a certain telephone call the CO received one day.

Another classic reason why we can't have nice things. Too busy interring the Darwin Award recipients. (What the photo fails to reveal: This recipient went mostly blind right after completing this weld, then walked off a jutting scaffold into the void.

Number 3 is not scary but reminds me of a Darwin Award winner Link

(1989, South Africa) Downtown Johannesburg is continuously growing with the construction of modern new buildings. One such building was designed with a steel framework, intended to be clad in glass as a final touch.

On the eighteenth floor, an engineer was inspecting the framework. He asked one of the workers to stand on a scaffold that was projecting through an open space where the glass panel would soon be mounted. With the worker acting as a counterweight, the engineer walked out onto the scaffold, checked the exterior, and came back in to continue his inspection.

After the engineer left, curiosity got the better of the worker. He walked out on the scaffold to see what the engineer was looking at...

Fortunately the falling worker did not take out any pedestrians!

The worker removed himself from the gene pool out of sheer stupidity. But one does wonder whether that engineer is blithely continuing to ask trusting people to act as counterweights without explaining his reason, and leaving a trail of bodies in his wake!

Instead of the Sword of Damocles, we have the fulcrum of ever present peril. It is as though these folks think they have attached their body harness to an invisible sky hook.

It is something, it is everything, it is nothing all at once.

That was from the IT crowd's Second season, first episode... it was also my favorite.

Rats.

I thought no-one would notice the switch, like when they swapped Dick York and Dick Sargent. (That was another 'Darin swap,' for the kiddies who don't know that TV used to be monochrome. Heck, kids today probably don't know that TV's used to be boxy, almost as deep as they were wide.)

(To be honest, that 'Darin' in my post was my own typo, something in this computer interrupts the keyboard signals at times, and I don't always catch the 'lost' keystrokes.)

Nice catch tying your typo to the Bewitched actor swap.

That actor exchange is so famous, especially for the fact that the network hoped it would happen unnoticed, that I normally use it as an example for 'trying to make an obvious change under the expectation that nobody will realize it.'

I also tend to use a two-word description for it, a '____ swap.' I'm not going to use the whole phrase here, as out of context it could be interpreted as violating the no profanity rule, even though that was the name both actors went by.

I just liked the precise typographic homonym usage of Darin (Darren) Stevens to cover for a keyboard slip.

But I'm just weird.

The character's name ISN'T spelled, 'Darin'?

Then again, for the first 30 years or so of my life, I thought Lincoln's name only had one "L" in it. Remembering name spellings isn't my strong suit.

There are some things it's not worth the storage space to keep in the wetware memory, such as the value of pi past 5 decimal places, or the value of e or √2. I know what the symbols represent and what sort of equations use each one, and when I NEED the exact(ish)(1) value, I've got the resources to find or generate it.

I like my passwords to be the same way. I don't memorize passwords, but I know how I generated it before, so I can generate it again. Also, it's hard to reveal information you don't readily know, and when people are threatening rubber-hose persuasion, they wand the time of say, not instructions on building a watch.

Notes:

  1. We all know that those three values are all irrational (although √2 might be a repeating infinite decimal) so there is no 'exact' value that can be represented by a simple number. But now that I've wandered FAR afield, my original point is shill clear, Right?

Apart from the apparent misspelled words thrown in, I have no problem understanding what you wrote, by general inference.

Darn it, I'm gonna have to take these new fingers in, they're still misfiring even after the 'breaking in' period.

Just like network exec's to think, "the unwashed masses will not notice." Afterall, they had already been supposedly brain-washed by the mind-numbing drivel over the years.

It was sort of "Darin'" of you to attempt that cover-up. WTG.

Many a time has the shirt caught the slip between the spoon and the lip.
