Engineers and Their Importance

09/11/2017 8:21 AM

we are going to see a few things about engineers and their importance in our present and future.

Our current world is full of machines and electronic gadgets. We're encompassed by vehicles and products such as smartphones, computers, automobiles, scanners, tablets, 3-D printers – all of which have been deliberately designed and effectively manufactured. Each one of these bits of hardware is an artistic get together of circuitry, structure, data, information and packaging. Who unites it all and transforms a heap of crude materials into something helpful? It's the job responsibility of the engineers. Engineers are in charge of topping off the universe of things we live in. Each gadget we use, from a TV remote to a flight, is built by engineers.

Engineering is a unique career. It requires its own particular kind of intelligence which is unmistakable from that deployed in numerous different fields. Students who study in government, economics, communications, and different streams of study don't utilize a similar mix of thought that successful engineers need. To be a decent engineer, you have to acquire a portion of the craftsman's innovativeness and the accountant's enthusiasm for details. You have to comprehend maths and programming altogether.

So engineers are required more in near future!!!

Nope!

As engineers are human and have a given limited intelligence we can be replaced with the correct algorithms combined with the correct programs.

The human mind runs around 200 Hz, this is incredibly slow compared to todays processors.

I , myself, started out using a slide rule, Now I just load values into a program to get an answer.

Doctors, engineer, bartenders, truck drivers ect.ect. will not be needed in the future.

So BOW TO THE OVERLOARDS (AI) OF THE FUTURE.

All I am doing is making a buck off of the technology till the time comes.

Maybe not more, "in the near future," but not less either.

Humans will (should) never completely trust the results of a machine without complete validation.

Our coffee pot, refrigerator, stove and washing machine can already tell us much about ourselves. They can also tell others what we eat, drink, wear and much more, if abused by hackers.

ronc and I can remember when drafters spent days drawing what engineers sketched for them on velum, then spent another day erasing and redrawing the item when it changed. Then another day or more was spent in a machine shop with a skilled model maker creating the prototype. Now the engineer can sit at a computer in the morning and design the item, correct mistakes, model the part in 3D and test it with software all before sending it electronically to a machining center (or 3D printer) next door and having the finished part all in the same day.

We've come a long way, but engineers will still be around for many years.
