Flow Trans Missing One Digit in DCS

12/21/2017 10:29 AM

ONE OF MY FLOW XMITTERS IS SHOWING READING IN DCS WITH MISSING DIGIT IN FULL RANGE. DCS RANGE IS 0 to 29000 kg/hr. The value in dcs is now read 2900kg/hr in full scale. Is their any problem with the plc?

Have you narrowed down if it is the flow transmitter signal that is the problem or if it is the PLC programming that is outputting the wrong value, or the display software that is scaling and displaying the value?

It could be any one of these things (depending on the system hardware and how it is being used).

Narrowing the problem down as much as possible will greatly simplify fault finding, but to me it sounds like a simple factor(s) of 10 signal scaling issue in software.
