Electronic Control Card

12/29/2005 8:23 AM

Are there was that a poor institution can save when buying parts? An electronic card for controlling a small refrigerated centrifuge is quite expensive just because it's a proprietary design! Come on...we just have paid US $3,500 for just one card. More than the cost of a complete computer!! It's a simple control card (PLC + memory + discrete R, C, L components, a couple of FET, diodes and transistors and three 16 leads chips on a 8"x3" board).

I don't believe that technology has to be so expensive... Are there other alternatives?

cheaper electronic control card

12/29/2005 9:53 PM

Many years ago I made 12 machining lines of auto lathing by Taiwan's PLC for STANLEY's handtool manufacture plant in Taiwan. I feel its reliablity is ok. I used to use Allen Bradely and Mitsubish PLC, but they are too expensive and no competetion at all. Finally I decided to try to use small new company's product, I found their software is more friendly to use and hardware's function is abundant and cheap. Reliability is ok. their web has some information for you reference. maybe you can find what you need. http://www.fatek.com/

If you can give me what are your requirements I can design an electronic card for you. I would try to make a simple design that you can understand. If you wish, please give me your specifications and I will try to design it for you. I am doing it as a hobby only. You can reply to guruchand@sify.com

Go for Horner APG OCS product, see www.heapg.com or www.horner-apg.com They are technically superior and commercially viable products.
