I am trying to measure the temperature of a product that is in a 500 gallon mixer. The mixer has a jacketed bowl that circulates cold water. When using a thermocuple in a well placed through the mixing bowl we get to much transference from the cold water and do not get an accurate temperature of the material we are mixing. The material generates friction heat as it mixes and is temperature sensitive. We must reach a min temp of 125 f and a max temp of 135 f. the temp we read from the thermocouple in the thermowell is lower than the actual temp of the material due to the transference of the cold water in the jacket. I can only place the probe about 1/4 inch into the inside of the mixer bowl due to the mixer blades. Any ideas on how I can insulate the thermocouple through the jacket or how to get the actual temp of the material with a thermocouple.
Thanks
