Tree Climbing Robot

03/08/2006 4:17 PM

There's a post over on New Scientist's Technology Blog about a tree-climbing robot developed by robotics engineers at Carnegie-Mellon and other U.S. Universities.

The blog includes a nice video clip of the robot climbing up a tree, and up a brick wall (cool!).

You are hereby forewarned - once the robots take over, scrambling up the nearest tree won't help you!

Wow! That video clip is amazing! Rememebr that movie "Runaway", with Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons (of Kiss)? There will these little crawling (killer) robots that look a lot like that (but actually not as creepy crawly as the real thing!)
