The technology of tomorrow exists but it is very complicated to install it in existing plants.

It is possible because everything is easier , more precise, more everything, but the truth is complicated to say.

For pressure, density, temperature look the word "smar" in Google or go to smar.com

I graduated from Puerto Rico Institute of Technology in 1977. My time there was a breeze because I had worked for Catalytic Inc. and Daniel Costruction Co. as a Calibrator just because I had experience working with and repairing IBM System 3 computers (ca. 1964-1968). Most of my fellow students had a real hard time and I'm only talking about the physics, math (calculus), basic ac/dc electronics and technical writing. I believe nowadays there should be included other topics like material behavior, metalurgy, biology, communications, electrical fundamentals, computing, etc. A good engineering tech should have a rounded and solid understanding of regulated industry and manufacturing. I have learned thru industry many things that were not taught to me at PRIT. On scope of things; Engineering fields and a specialization is the best way to go. Biomed, material sciences, etc...
