Tide Measurement

In major marine project there measure the tide what is the technical name for the instrument then how they are measured the tide

I would venture: the mark one:A1:30.40, general issue eyeball, is the basic of all measurement devices.?

Tide gauge - recording wetting of electrical strip or pressure of water levels over a pressure sensor of any kind you want. Similar or identical to those used in groundwater wells during drawdown/recovery during well/screen testing

Critical is the amount of tidal changes 3ft to 30ft
