Current Fluctuation Problem

Dear all,

I have faced the problem with an MMA welding machine. The over current light is on after welding for 2 or 1 1/2 hours when it is used in normal welding. If this light is on, I switch off the machine and wait for 2 or 3 minutes and then I start it again. The light is off. But the light turns on again after two or 1 hour again. Kindly let me know whether it is the problem of temperature sensor or filter coil or fan capacity.

It could be a problem with any of these items, but is more likely you are exceeding your machines duty cycle.

Check the specification plate information and compare this to your welding process , your temp sensor is saving a burnout of your machine be happy it is doing its job.

What brand is the welder? You might want to check the specs. and determine what the duty cycle is before you spend any money.

Dear Sir,

Your problem seems to be a genuine one.

One basic thing in the electrical engineering. Do not over load any electrical equipment.

Just try out the method of taking a break after every 90 Mts. It will definitely solve the basic welding operation problem which you are confronting.

Another solution is to install a temperature sensor. Once the welding equipment is nearing that cut off temp. point , just switch off the equipment and concerned be allowed to enjoy a break .
