Honda to Enter the Jet Market

07/26/2006 11:40 AM

Honda Motor Co., is preparing to enter the jet market this fall with the release of the HondaJet. Much like the vehicles produced by it's automotive division, the HondaJet is small and efficient. It is designed for light business use and can carry 7 people (2 crew plus 5 passengers). Will it have the same revolutionary effect that Japanese cars had on the automotive industry? That may take a few years, as Honda will begin taking orders in the fall, but likely won't begin producing them in the US for 3-4 years. They are looking towards a manufacturing alliance with Piper Aircraft to expedite the process.
