GSM signal enhancer

05/10/2008 10:36 PM

Sir

I am facing a trouble in receiving mobile signal inside my house. The reason thus stated was that this building was constructed using RCC hence i request you to kindly help me with finding a circuit schematic for GSM repeaters with multi band signal frequency support.

It would be far more easy to just stand by a window?

I think the idea you have is going to be overly complex and subject to local legislation...

John.

Actually the entire problem is i am residing in ground floor even standing by the window is not making any difference to signal quality. So if i can get a circuit then i am sure that i can try my level best to make it work. So kindly help.

Buy an external Yagi antenna (for cell phones) with the correct connection for your phone, aim it at the next best mast. that is the cheapest and best fix.....

Before you buy any kind of antenna or repeater, check to see what the signal is outside your building. If you live in a very weak signal area, then the repeater or antenna won't help much. All they will do is enable you to propagate a weak signal a little bit farther.

Your best bet is to check with your service provider to see what options they have available. They should also be able to tell you what the coverage/signal strength SHOULD BE for you area. The you can tell them what it REALLY IS. They may need to make some adjustments on their end.

If there is a decent donor signal available (outside) then you may be able to use a repeater or Yagi to bring it inside and propagate it. I don't know what local ordinances there are on putting up antennas or repeaters, so that may be an issue, too.

A final option which is gathering momentum is the use of a femtocell. This is a device that creates a wireless signal inside your home and uses a high speed internet connection such as DSL or a cable modem to back haul the signal to your service provider. You'll have to get it from your cell service provider in order to comply with spectrum licenses and to make sure they will allow your back haul connection.

Something related to this was treated here http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/17295#newcomments sometime ago.

See if your concern is addressed.

Cheers,
