A quick check of wikipedia gives you most of what you requested.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cor-ten

many references there for you to check, including manufacturers...

I'll see what's available tomorrow when i have access to my international references.

As a "rule of thumb" and due to my past experience in handling of material for design and fabrication in accordance with ASME code, I can say that there is nothing to be called equivalent between certain material specified by such a code and another material specified by another code.

Sometimes, in some references/handbooks you can find that there are a group of materials (more than one) that are equivalent to certain material, and you can notice that this group itself have a great variety of dismatching w.r.t their chemical and mechanical properties. So, we can say that their proprieties may be closer together, but we can't called it by "equivalent".

Finally, not in any case that we can substitute a material by what we call "its equivalent".

I absolutely agree with The Wisdom Of Abdel Halim Galala on this subject.

However, a "NOMINAL EQUIVALENT" for ASTM A 588 Grade a under the JIS system is :

Chemical Composition

GradeSPA-C
StandardJIS G3125
CountryJapan

Heat Analysis

Element

Symbol

Min.

Max.

CarbonC0.12
ChromiumCr0.31.25
CopperCu0.250.6
ManganeseMn0.20.5
NickelNi0.65
PhosphorusP0.070.15
SiliconSi0.250.75
SulfurS0.04

I make no claims at all regarding ASME or other suitability.

Abdel, as always, you are there to protect and assist!
