Do you have a development kit, or are you starting from scratch?

I'm sorry ..these things are NOT easy to understand.

If you ask a specific question we may be able to help.

It took most of us several months to even grasp the real practical issues, and years of electronics experience to do anything useful with them.

You need a simple development board or tutorial kit, good applictions notes and a simple worked example to get you started.

If you work hard slow and steady it will eventually makle sense. Half the problem is recognizing what it is that you don't understand.

Ask individual questions about specific points and people will help....

The 8051 has been with us since ±1980 and there are newer and better products available that are based on it.

The 8051 consist of very basic parts and programming is quite straightforward.

I am not sure of how to get material to you and my info is a bit old in any case, it also have been a while since I have used it.

I suggest you google for 8051 and have a look at its architecture, io-pins programming code etc.

After you have done that feel free to ask.

You said that you "are going to". So there is time yet to change your initial intentions. Take a look here. My suggestion is it would be good start for newbies.

You can come and learn at my place. I have WSC-2008 program and it involves many versions of 8051 uC and application programming in C++. Look at my web site for WSC-2008 or embedded systems training. These are short three to five days programs. My contact address, phone numbers, and email are on web site. You may also find other training centers near your place.
