Hello Del the cat

Were you frightened by the Daleks, all those years ago....

Mind you, many governments throughout the World have become wary of the Microsoft monopoly, and several have converted all their government services computers to Linux, so they don't get caught out by cracked pane problems.

Kind Regards....

I used to be an Alta-Vista guys myself, but then somebody showed me Google and I have pretty much used that ever since (late 90's?). I have tried a few of the specialty engines like Dog Pile and a few others now and then, but I learned that there is a lot more to Google than meets the eye. A little reading and playing around will take you a long way!

Re: If you couldn't use google or yahoo what search engine would you use?

I would use one with no socialism or marketing maneuvers in place.

Laws are laws, socialism is a crime. "socialism" contains the marketing of the opposite of true decent products, most good already made, by giving millions railroaded with todays search engines a bad lead to another not so good result in search or in real life as a result of that search...to a very bad faking product.

As "crazy" as I may sound, I have over 100000 hours on the net since 1999. It gets worse and worse and worse... Did I tell you it took me 18 months to find a fuel pump for my 87 subaru?

The same pump went on more than the 1,300,000 of my old subes model, then by several more million when factoring in the same pump got a different bracket.

How about those pc parts, not even two years old? Disappeared or left with a retarded review by someone who deemed said review special, and powerful enough to leave it on the web for the same search for years to come to get....without the facts.

There needs to be a group. A real group. making a real internet. A bad business crushing internet allowing for evolution, not forgetting the good in the past called "history" worth remembering all with facts, mispellings included...and returned in a search with upmost truth of real integrity. To hell with china and thier wildly free market smashed into our retarded america to gobble. I seemed to have gained a slight prejudice..slight is not all mind you...

I am enraged if it were not for patience.

I use Clusty. Its got a handy side bar that catagorizes all the results.

If you search "imperial" for example, it will show how many results for cars, royalty, flowers and places so you can click on the one your looking for to narrow down the results.

bgd73 wrote

Lets do the math here 365 days x 24 hours = 8760 hours per year

1999 to 2008 ( years end) = 10 years x 8760 = 87,600

So ...... my question to you is how could have 100,000 on the net?

When do you sleep , eat & work?

Hello ed fuzzyE kedz

Explanation for the <"....I have over 100000 hours on the net since 1999...."> is either a typo, or else solitary existence in a black hole, where time dilation appears to happen.

That's my thoughts.

Kind Regards....

Sparky, the quote was in reference to #9 reply bgd73. He was the one who claimed 100000 hours on the net - not me - I was just doing the math for him to show how absurd that remark was. Ed

Hello again Milo,

just to say I thank you once again but, I almost missed your post as it was on the wrong topic of 'mine' or, pretty much off topic. But I am glad a saw it and, this has shaken me up a little so I will be going through the apparently 'off topic' posts I have trashed! Hello Milo,

I have seen one of these deblisterers before. And I went to the Spanish site hoping to see a machine a may be able to buy.

Please do not take this as an insult as I am really surprised you are looking for de blistering machines for me. However the smallest machine on the sites you list if about four to six times bigger and, have a different power supply and I will need an transducer which I know because I used to own one from 220/240 to 110 and it was the size of a car battery. Because of that I have to look for something, or more likely will have to make my own machine which it is possible to park on my knee while I de blister.

My sincere thanks and I ask you kindly to continue looking if and when you have time.

jfmfit

I will be moving soon into a single baed place and there would just not be the room there to find for this.

It depends on what type of information I'm looking for. Our host GlobalSpec is pretty good for some technical information. Recently (last week) I've found a searching site which uses the same Google technology (in fact the search results are exactly the same as Google) but has no commercial dependence of Google.

NOTE: the purpose of this site is to economically support the catholic church. I use it but I don't want anybody could use it and think I hide this information.

Best regards

I used 'webcrawler.com' when i first started using the net. I found this to be very good at the time. I don't know if they are still around (haven't used it in years). Maybe they have been bought out.

My experience with google has changed over the years. I find it very hard to find the 'free' info i once use to find. It seems that i have to wade through sponsored sites first. This was not the case years ago.

Hello Milo,

I find it frustrating when a search site/s start to give you more and more info' on what you asked for instead of allowing the searches to go on a broader route and give more disparate replies.

I like Ask, Alta Vista, Explorer. I also use Meta searches a lot. Really good for World Wide searches. I find Alta Vista (and I can't recall if that is the correct spelling, sorry) is good for UK searches.

Sorry for the bad explanation. I just can't think straight at the mo'.

Autonomy is a world class search engine and best in class per Gartner. Check out their web site at www.autonomy.com and look at the IDOL case studies. This is more for corporate applications to search across all corporate information as opposed to white box searches.
