new idea for an airpowerd engine

06/15/2008 4:26 AM

got an great idea for a engine that uses air instead of water or fuel

.the way its going to work is to have a air compressor will force air into a from a tank to the small gap which some of the air will drive the engine to get the compressor going there will be a little electric motor not the size of what we got now smaller .this will get the compressor started first thing then once going the compressor gets its power from the wheels going or from the battery if stoped

should be free if any one has any other surgestions of how i can make the engine better tell me

This may help a little bit! It's quite a large artical but it should give you a few ideas!

Good One Mr. Truman Brain!!!!

No limit to the old story of "Perpetul Motion." And, as long as there are prople Perpetual Motion will live on ad-infimitum.

When a system that takes from 5-7 Compressor HP to make one Air Motor HP it does'nt take a Rocket Scientist to realize why there are no Compressed Air Powered Vehicles on the market today.

Most quickly learn "Free Air" is not FREE but very EXPENSIVEEEEEEE.

However when it comes to pollutants, if you don't count the energy input to store the energy, Air Power would be a winner.

All that stored energy has to come from somewhere and that is usually in the form of some Fossil Fuel being burned to produce it.

Sorry, what you describe is a perpetual motion device. If you are not sure what I mean, try removing the car entirely and then visualise the engine you propose.

Air motors/compressors are also very inefficient compared to virtually all other types of engines and fuels, that's one of the reasons you don't see air powered cars (except in scams).

So you're telling me that if i put pinwheel s on the doors that were hooked up to little electric generators thatlit LEDs that charged solar cells that electrolyze water that could be burned in mini jet engine in back to push car forwards I won''t get apatent?

Look at all the energy i would recover!

I'm just crushed.

Hello Milo,

look, do not be sad, will you allow me to invest a few hundred million on your idea. It was said phones would never work or be of use and look where we are now.

I just checked the date and, it is nowhere near April 1st!

You don't get nout for nout right? I think theres a little leg pulling here.

If you mounted a stand exactly on the axis the earth spins on, and then extended a pair of arms out 180* from each other. On those arms place low speed high output generators. That way you can use the rotation of the earth to create electricity.

I hate to pop the bubble you apparently live in. The idea of an air powered car already exist and there are functioning prototypes. The most recent company that I'm aware of recently split apart from their original partners and are now reorganizing the company before bring the car to market. Was to be released next year but has been set back a bit due to the separation. Not sure where the original poster is from, but it's highly unlikely that it will ever be seen here in the USA because of our government getting in the way like always. The car has a compressor that will refill the tank in a few hours off of normal household power or you can fill up at a commercial compressor station similar to a normal gas station in just a few minutes. You can read more about the car and company at www.theaircar.com. You can also learn tons more about the patents that exist and other information by doing a simple search on the net. Like I always tell the people that ALWAYS play the perpetual energy card. Just because you don't have the imagination or drive to achieve something new, doesn't make it impossible. Dare to dream outside of the box and you dare to change the world!

I and others have already assessed, explained and discussed the technology previously. Please refer to all the previous CR4 threads and posts that I and others have made regarding "theaircar" and the concept of the air-powered car.

I don't think we need to go over it yet again.

As for this particular thread and my response post, have a close look at what was actually been proposed in post #1.

Yes...yes...it could work...I can see it, now...we could just build all roads to run downhill!

All of these ideas fall down when you work out some calculations. Energy in against energy out, machine efficiencies, wind losses etc etc never work out greater then unity. I worked for engine consultants where there was a small department which examined the claims, free, of new would-be engine researchers. In the 15 years I was there not one proved to be viable.

So before you go to the expense of making anything, think carefully, do your sums- including EVERYTHING; wind, friction, tyre, aerodynamic, mechanical, electrical losses etc. There are plenty of analysis formats and data out there to help you. You will get a big surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trial: Go to your local garage and ask to use their compressor.

Fill their (large) tank with compressed air, then turn off the mains power.

Connect their nut runner gun (a tool they use for the wheel nuts;
- these are quite powerful, but we are not talking calcs here.)

Then run it (the gun tool) until it stops, when you run out of air.

Based upon the large volume of air you started with, and the power you
obtain from the gun - (for just a few minutes time) this will provide you with
a realistic and likely result for your air car, - without incurring any expense.

Back to the drawing board?

jt.

I love new ideas, it's making them work that's the problem.

GO FOR IT! EVERYONE SAID COLUMBUS WOULD FALL OFF THE EDGE OF THE EARTH..NO ONE KNEW WHY PLANETS STAYED IN ORBIT....EVERYONE THOUGHT THE SUN REVOLVED AROUND THE EARTH....NO ONE KNEW WHERE THE MOON WENT WHEN THE SUN WAS OUT....

ALL OF THE BRILLANCE IN THE WORLD USUALLY HAVE THREE CONCLUSIONS. YOU ARE CRAZY, THE IDEA IS STUPID, AND IT CAN'T BE DONE...UNTIL SOMEBODY LIKE YOURSELLF COMES ALONG AND DOSE IT, THEN THE CONCLUSION CHANGES TO TRICKERY, WITCHCRAFT, OR GENEIOUS.
