Too late someone has just done it, a flask which you pump to force the water through special filters....

I'm also an avid backpacker and travel to some out of the way locales (eg:in East Africa). I have used a ceramic filter for most waters, but I also use my Steripen for final purification. It's light and effective, and can be used without a filter if the water is not "cloudy".

Hello Guest,

Unless you are able to get down to a retail price of well below £25.00 ($49.00) you are going to find it hard going.

Boots (usual disclaimer) sell water sterilisation tablets for taking to far-flung places; they are small enough for a pack to be slipped into a pocket. One may find Boots stores in high streets across this country and at airports.
