The Australians evidently think the climate has been cooling since 1998. This is based on their research of data from NASA that has recently been released. The cooling is of the top 2500 feet of the ocean surface.
They also think that warm El-Nino ocean currents, formed in the South Pacific during 1998, have run a ten cycle of flushing to the North, and are now gone. Could they be right? Does this explain why 580,000 square miles of Arctic ice formed in one 10 day period last winter?
My friend from Alaska called me after he read about it in his newspaper. I didn't see it in any non-Alaskan (lower 48) news reporting. I did hear some of the big green establishment saying global warming might be taking a 10 to 20 year siesta, but it will return, so we need to battle it now.
Has anyone heard of this? Do you think global warming can sleep that long? Leave it to those wild and whacky Australians to make such independent pronouncements.
There is also a new report out on "Global Dimming". I guess it reports a study of how man made pollution, is helping tp cool the earth by filtering out sunlight. If this is correct, Gore is gong to mess his pants.
