What is France's time ?

07/22/2008 1:43 AM

Talking about france, I hope to know why they use +2 time zone instead of 0 time zone?

from map we can find they located at o degree. so I wonder why they dont use as the same time as britain?

and what is germany time zone? what is russia time zone?

France is +1 from GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Like the UK, France are currently employing Daylight Saving Time which would make them +2 from GMT. Russia is +3 from GMT.

I would guess that the Eastern part of France would be +1 and the Western part 0 so they went +1 rather than having two zones in their country.

UK is +1 zone? why not 0 zone?

they are located on the 0 degree greenwich line.

we are located in +8 time zone. so I always think we are ahead them 8 hours.

They are French and thus contrary by nature . They are probably still aggrieved that the 0o meridian isn't through Paris
