Wanted food extruder parts

07/25/2008 6:56 PM

Hi, I`m looking for a head unit for a food exstruder(the bit with the worm gear and housing)..the kind that makes corn snacks and cereals..etc.. It`s wanted to develop prototype test machine. It would suit a smaller machine..perhaps in the production quantity of less than 1 tonne per day. Preferably second hand.

Or if anyone had some suggestions on where I could find a part of this nature I would be most grateful. Food auction sites etc..?

Kind regards

Andre'

Hi Skipp -

I went into a second hand food machine store just yesterday - (I was looking at big microwaves and not screws) The closest they had there to what you need was a butchers mincing machine.

They also had some equipment there which is half broken but where parts can be used for making or repairing other equipment.

My advice is therefore look at used or new foodstuff suppliers in your area.

Manufacturers also upgrade from time to time and may scrap perfectly good stuff.

Also look at agricultural supply stores.

Should be asking 1st off...

Where the heck are you?

Imagine someone here had a machine that they somehow had, and it would cost you $50, then its another several thousand in shipping as no one knows where you are, and a local one at $100 would be better suited.

If your in Australia, I'd check out Grays.com.au there are food processing stuff in there from Australia and NZ

If you're just prototyping and need some kind of extruder...just go get a pasta extruder from any kitchen supply store. It has the same components (although not as big)
