Small Block Chevy

07/27/2008 2:39 AM

Can anyone give me the location dimensions for mounting a small block Chevy engine and automatic transmission? I am designing a new kind of motorcycle trike.

Try looking up E.J. Potter, the Michigan Madman, and Boss Hoss Motorcycles. Both have been building Chevy V8 bikes for years. I witnessed E.J. smoke the rear wheel on his injected 327 cycle he full quarter mile back in the late sixties. Bob C.

Well if people are being so helpful for this one, maybe someone can point me to the drawings for the complete assemblies of a 1968 Mustang Coupe.

E. J. was a sight to see! I was never into so called "Exhibition" racing, but he got my attention. But in response to the original question, E. J. never ran a Chevy transmission. He pulled the bike up on a stand, put the Harley transmission in gear, fully engaged the clutch and rolled of the stand. A sight to see! -- JHF

Years back I worked in a collision shop. There were books that gave exact dimensions on the vehicles. I thought they were referred to as collision books. Someone here might remember the correct name for these books.
