Construction of Solar Panel

09/25/2006 5:59 AM

Hello PPL.

Can any one of you assist me in how to construct solar panel and the materials used in building this stuff.

I am power electronic student and need this to use as my final project work. I hope you engineers out there are ready to help with this.

Hope to hear from any of you.

Ato

Is this for electrical power generation? Well even if it is or isn't you want to avoid using solar cells, their conversion efficiency is barely 12% and they are expensive to boot!!

The most economical methos to look at would be to use heat exchangers.... to have an array of pipes carrying liquid, possibly water, through the solar exposed side of the array and then have the water pumped to a heat exchanger - If its to provide hot water then the job is practically done for you!!

You may want to have a look at the www.solaron.net website this is pretty much the sort of thing you will be after constructing. Vacuum tubes to reduce the heat dissapation and all that kind of stuff. nicktour*h*t**ildot*c*m Hope this helps

WE are manufacturing prefab roof panels and are looking for a way to incorporate an energie source captation incorporated in our panel, so in your research, or project, if there could be a possibility of incorporating your finding into a roof pannel, let me khow, thanks... good luck with your project.

I have built (2) for battery charging buy a good batch of solar cells solder them together in series parallel config, use a blocking diode when it is night and that is all very easy.
