Welding procdedure Specification ( WPS ) written instruction for welders to perform welding within ranges shown.
Upon successful conclusion Wedling Procedure Qulaification Test, Welding Procedure Specification shall provide in accordance to applicable Codes( AWS D1.1 / ASME SECT IX) Welding parameteres allowable ranges( Amperage / Voltage /Travel Spped),ie Minimum ( Min ) and maximum ( Max ) range allowable. Based on these ranges Minimum and Maximum allowable Heat Input calcualted.
Question is
What is the appropriate method of calculating Heat Input =
a) Minimum Amp x Minimum Voltage x 60 / Minimum Travel Speed x 1000 OR
b) Minimum Amp x Minimum Voltage x 60 / Maximum Travel Speed x 1000
Hope now we all have better/clear understanding of my question.Thks
Dont you use K factors in the us like we do in the DS/EN standarts we have different k factors for SAW-GMAW-FCAW in the equation otherwise we use the same form.
Your message is not clear. It appears to me that you are mixing two different units like Amps, Voltage which are of Electrical and Travel Speed is Mechanical.
Pl. be clear in expressing your problem and re-post it. We shall try to answer it.
