12/13/2008 10:36 PM

I have a honda ca160 to restore and i would like to contact pjjones in Fla. Mine also is a shriner bike with 3562 miles on it. I have access to 9 other ca160's but they are all in rough shape. I need a gas tank for mine. I have a lot of the other parts, need factory paint scheme and paint if it is available.

You can buy nearly all the parts you need brand new ex factory. You order through your local Honda Motorcycle Dealer/Agent spare parts department. You will find the prices are dirt cheap as they are in 1960s Dollars! Of course yo will have to wait for it to arrive from Japan, but it is genuine brand new factory so worth the wait! Same goes for the exhaust pipes which tend to rust from the inside out.

Look through the CR4 history as there was another person doing up a CA160 a while ago.

Hello locotest,

I have found a site which has full schematic drawing of every bit of the bikes you have. The question was asked whether the back shock came apart. Well, as you see it does. I am still copying each page to my computer. This site also has the codes and ref' #'s and prices of every bit, right down to the last washer!

This is just an example.

Re: Honda CA160: Disassembling the Rear Shocks 11/12/2008 3:00 AM
Hello

fredster:

I found this site that has a Manual for your machine. Don't know if you have one, or would want one. But there it is.

Below is a schematic of the rear shocks. It looks like the shocks do come apart as you will see.

You should be able to find out what you want, perhaps?

I have copied some other schematics but still have about a dozen to do. My suggestion is you see what view works for you. I have a picture are full screen of about 12'x9'. The picture are coming up so big you will have to give me a day or so to see if I can work with a view which suite the graphics.

I have not done any graphics like these and when my mouse is charged, I will try and send them to your PM. If I can,t can you PM me an email I can send them to to see if you can view them. It is a lot of work, but I would like you to see them, however, if you cannot open my file or something it is a wasted time? So that is what I want to check. I am not sure if I can copy the all to CR4 as they are so big. Any smaller and the detail starts to fade.

When you go to the site, if you have not already found it! You will see, if you click once one the small image, it will be enlarged below. And below that large picture is a list of parts and their #'s

See what you think of this first.

CA160 REAR SHOCK ABSORBER

This is the site. They do the Manuals and a full set of schematics for your bike.

Do you want me to do a full set and post them on PM?

If you go to the site yourself go down the page to below the schematics and there a button to click on for size. You can click on the small ones at the top but they do not enlarge very well.

I hope you find this a help........................

Happy holiday.................

Hello locotest:

I will try when I have all the files copied. You may have to remind me! Brain like a sieve!

In the mean time you can alway visit the site and copy any page relevant to what you may be working on?

I will copy your email to my personal account. You should not publish your email on open forum as it is an invite to spammers! Always use PM to sent personal stuff, OK? Just a little advice.

Take care and keep in contact/.............

Hello locotest,

Just a quick note about the Bike site I found for you.

I had lots of troubles with my Windows XP and have recently got a Mac. I was trying to copy what I had from XP to Mac but with no success.

So now working entirely on a Mac, I will copy and send all the pages to you if you still want them?

Can you let me know please?

I would like to send them one file at a time because the files are rather large. From memory, that is one picture file and one page file giving detain of where on the site the particular page can be found. It will mean ~ 120 files in all. I will try and save them to one file and send it but I think it will be too large to email.

Take care my friend..............
