HART Communicator

02/20/2009 1:57 AM

Gents

Is there a difference between HART communicator and HART callibrator?. Anyone out there who can advise me on best HART Communicator. I have looked at Emerson 375 Field Communicator and to be honest I am impressed with it.The reason being that I have used the older version 275 three years ago it was a pain at times. Any other brands out there which can give me value for my money.

Thanks

Have a look at Microflex's Microlink Hart Modem/Communicator http://www.microflx.com/hart.htm

There is also a link for download of free Hart comm software.

We have used these most successfully and the gear is not expensive

Is there a difference between HART communicator and HART callibrator?

A HART communicator merely communicates with a HART-capable instrument. It allows you to view and change the configuration of the instrument.

There is no such thing as a HART calibrator (to be precise about it) but there are calibrators with built-in HART communications. It allows you to calibrate and configure a HART-capable instrument with just one device.

The Emerson 375 is expensive but worth the investment.

Vulcan

Hi,

Another HART Communicator in market is MFC 4150 from Merium.

Also you can use your Notebook as a HART Communicator, after installing the HART Configurator Software which are available from YOKOGAWA, Prosoft, etc. This will be much cheaper that model 375 from Emerson.

Regards,

We use the Emerson 275,375 and the Fluke 2020 calibrator. I like the 375 the best but it is alittle slow at times. The Fluke 2020 calibrator is fairly nice to because for calibrating instruments on the bench it is all you need with an air source.
