Do you mean the key for windows?

In most cases the windows key is on a sticker on the computer case, or on the windows installation disk.

Generally the software is registered rather than the computer itself.

The most common form of this is the Operating System, available by right selecting on My Computer.

For windows, they key you get when you right click on my computer is encrypted and isn't all that useful.

jorpaul,

If you are running Windows, I believe that you can display the registration key by opening "Control Panel", then selecting the "System" icon, and clicking on the "General" tab...
