Hybrid car battery

04/26/2009 2:29 AM

How can hybrid car rechargeable storage batteries have such long life expectancy (as great or greater than car/engine (typically warranted at 150,000/), while camera/device batteries (also NiMH cell) typically only last a year or two, or less?

The hybrid has a computer system that maintains the battery charge at 30% to 100% of capacity. So as the batteried deteriate their still have about 50% of working capacity. The hybrid doesn't use much of the battery, in city driving, the biggest fuel savings comes from turing the gasoline engine off at stops.
