Split the file(s) to smaller sized files or make it available as a torrent download located on your computer.

What type of files are you trying to send/make available for remote download? Video? A complete program?

Many ISP's Will not allow torrents (or will severely restrict their bandwidth). An alternate method would be to post the file to an FTP site and allow for its' download.

There are companies like www.pgp.com that offer digital signatures that integrate with your email program; you can use an online storage program and then encrypt it so that in order to access the file, a client would need a "key" that you email to him or her.

I use: www.yousendit.com for heavier files. They charge only if the size is much bigger, of several GBs.

I tried to subscribe to this service and it hasn't worked.. I'm now not able to sign in, and it seems to have absconed with my email and password, and I think I smell a rat? Have you used the free version of this, or are you a paying user?

I'm very happy with cutesendit.com

Some green is great but the more is less ideal I don't agree at all.

Try the yousendit.blog

I use the free version and have used it for a couple of years. I use it quite often. I have not had a problem with it even sending big drawing files, 80 to 90 mb.

I use the free GSplit @ www.gdgsoft.com/gsplit. If you Google 'file splitter' you'll find plenty of others.

For smaller files than yours, this is quite interesting as you do not need to force the recipients to install the tool on their machines: it generates an executable file. The drawback is that you have to send an .exe file which is sometimes automatically removed as it is deemed a a threat.

So GSplit and FTP server / Torrent, sounds good to me.

Use a File Zipper, with password if nobody else should be able to look at it. Put the file on a Torrent website. Use a Torrent downloader to receive the file....

Or burn it on a DVD and send by SnailMail.....use Re-writables.....

Use Power Archiver and compress with otions. create Zip files using multiple spanning, create 10-12 100meg zips 01-012. Upload them to Rapidshare for the other person to download.

Look at any movie file that has been zipped and uploaded 6-10 parts. After doanload powerArchiver or Winrar will unpack and join them.
