Untreated Steel and Welded Tanks

05/15/2009 8:47 AM

What are the pitfalls of using untreated steel in a fabricated and welded tank? Does anybody know enough to recommend a finish treatment for a steel tank for clean storage of hydraulic oil?

"Does anybody know enough to recommend a finish treatment for a steel tank for clean storage of hydraulic oil?" This usually doesn't stop many of us from replying.

We sealed fuel tanks with polysulfide rubber, years ago, don't remember the brand name.

PRC 1201Q was the product designation.

That's all I know, may not be enough.
