SATA Hard Disk Problem

05/21/2009 2:16 PM

I'M HAVING PROBLEM WITH SATA HARD DRIVE INSTALLATION. AFTER THE WINDOWS XP INSTALLATION I GET A MESSAGE THAT SAYS THERE IS NO HARD DRIVE. I HAVE CHECKED ALL THE CONNECTIONS MANY TIMES BUT I GET THE SAME RESULT OVER AND OVER.

HAS ANYONE RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM? I READ THAT I NEED TO MAKE A "SATA DRIVERS DISK" IN ORDER FOR WINDOWS TO FIND THE DRIVE. I THOUGHT THAT WINDOWS XP WOULD DO THAT AUTOMATICALLY?

ANY SUGGESTION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Replace your SATA cable. They are very fragile. This is a very common problem.
