	We have a new particle analyser which needs a constant supply of water. We have had a new mains installed; but as the hose leaves the tap and enters the analyser when the sample is taken air bubbles can be seen on the sample. Can anyone suggest a good in line filter to get rid of these air bubbles .. Have looked at some air seperators but they tend to be for closed loop systems. Thanks in Advance.

	A fliter cannot be used to get rid of bubbles, as bubbles are gaseous and a filter works on the removal of suspended solids. Whatever is used, it has to have an air vent on it somewhere. Some other form of separator is required other than a filter. Try something that consists of a tangential entry into a vertical cylinder that is open at the top, and connect the bottom of the cylinder via a cone to the line feeding the particle analyser. 	Why not a two-inch dia. section of pipe with a pingpong ball inside? When an air pocket gets inside the pipe, the water level drops, allowing the air pocket to vent out of the pipe. When the water level rises (due to the exit of the air pocket), the ball will plug the vent and prevent the water from escaping. regards, Vulcan __________________ Miscommunication: when what people heard you say differs from what you said.
