Backfill Compound Material for Earthing Electrode

06/12/2009 5:23 AM

Can anybody let me know the composition of backfill compound used in earthing electrode. The resistivity of backfill should be 0.12 Ohm-Mts, envoinmental friendly.

Wet dirt is just fine. If the resistivity is too high on testing, the following can be done:

  • Extend the electrode futher into the ground
  • Increase the number of electrodes
  • Add mineral to the ground - whatever can be found: seawater, urine, etc.
