I am Metallurgical Engineer from Germany. After studies I had few months of work experience in automotive material development and also during studies I gained some experience in metal forming design and simulation, heat treatment and casting processes. Due to recession I lost my job and currently searching for the job around. I want to know which of the above mentioned field have good opportunities even during the recession period?

I don't know about Germany, but if you're here in America, design and simulation engineers are always in demand.

Move from automotive to oil field equipment. Man turbo and Siemens would be two large German companies that are in this area.

At $70 a barrel and climbing, the oil business is back...
