Explosion-Proof Occupancy Sensor

We are doing the electrical for an aircraft hangar. They are calling for an explosion proof line voltage wall mounted occupancy sensor. Is there one made?

Seems kind of pointless. If there is a significant explosion that could take out an occupancy sensor, wouldn't the same explosion also remove the occupants?

Do you mean something along the lines of a hazardous area-rated PIR sensor? If so, none that I am aware of (unless you put a standard PIR sensor inside a flameproof enclosure fitted with a hazardous area-rated window).

This is a rather specialised product (or likely a system). What is the application, standard, zone, equipment specification, etc?
