Silent Chain and Sprocket

07/01/2009 4:13 PM

Is there a calculator or where could I find information now to create the sprocket? I know for them to be fully compatible they must have the same pitch, tooth profile, width, etc. so How do I go about creating the sprocket if I have the chain information? Silent Chain: This is the information Pitch 8mm Plate Quantity 5x4 Internal Width 8.65mm External Width 12.75 Height 12.75 KN 19.10 kgf 1,950

I also Know that the Sprocket has to be an even # of Teeth like 42T and it should be between 3.235" OD -3.040" OD.

You need to read a handbook on mechanical design. Try Shigley's.
