What is the relationship of valve Cv and valve opening?

Hi there,

The valve will have a specific Cv at a specific percentage of valve opening. In other words, the valve will have a specific rated flow at a specific rated opening.

hi

Relation is nothing but inherent characterstics of the valve. when you check the characterstic graph of the valve it draws between %flow through the port to that of %travel of the stem. As specified in control valve formula cv is related with flow rate.hence when there is chage in valve opening there is chage flow and thereby cv is changed.
