In relation to fluid properties, superheat is any condition where a fluid is above its boiling temperature at the system pressure. Examples:

  • Air at ambient temperatures and pressures is superheated.
  • Steam at 1 barg and 200degC is superheated.

Refer to a set of steam tables for more insight on this topic.
