CR4 on Blacklists?

08/20/2009 9:59 AM

I always liked CR4 very much. And I still do ! BUT ... I can't get the "CR4 Daily Digest" anymore because it got blocked by our "Mail Marchall". Our IT manager told me he can't do nothing about it because "CR4 Daily Digest" is on more then a few blacklists. He also said that CR4 frequently changes server ...

Now what ??? Do I just have to forget CR4 ?

Do it at home or off company time, when doing it on company time, recieved permission, but........

I have found that CR4 does suck productivity out when browsing other than finding a particliar solution that is workrelated....either way, always on my own time

Very often I find sollutions for probems that I encounter at my job. Not always exact sollutions, but often it helps me finding the sollution for my (the factory's) problems. In return, I answer questions of fellow CR4-ers (if they are in my field of knowledge or experience)
I do not "browse" the different forums. (I don't have the time to do that at work!), But some discussions are "interesting" for me AND my job. If you check my profile, you'll see that in the (about) three years that I'm a member I posted about 150 times. 3 years is 3 x 200 workdays, that is average 1 post per 4 days ... *s* If we assume that I need 10 minutes to write a comment, I used my boss's time 1500 minutes in the last three years... well gentlemen (gentle men *s*) I can assure you that the things I learned from CR4 saved me (and my boss) MORE then 1500 minutes to find sollutions at my work.

PS. I wrote this comment at home ...

I too........for the most part. but any time other than lunch, I do ask because they do monitor. And I have told them, but the digest like alot of tech journals is of value and should keep on top of.

enjoy it now I do have time on my hands.

Hi 44mEurope,

Actually, we've changed our mail server only once - and that was last week - and that may be the reason we're showing up on blacklists. Any time you move from one mail server to another, and freshly begin sending out as much information as we do (The Daily Digest, subscribed discussion notifications, etc.), it can send up red flags. We are investigating such instances and working with our new server client (who has a very high rating in terms of working with only real companies) to get our reputation back. It may take a bit of time, but bear with us.

Also, if you can't get the Digest, simply add the site to your Internet favorites and drop in whenever you want.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
- Chris

Thanks for the explanation, Chris. I understand clearly what you're saying. I'll forward your message to our IT departement, and I hope they'll see that CR4 can be VERY interesting for electrical-maintenance-in-a -printing-factory-guys like me.

If I can't persuade our "IT crowd" : I'll have to "browse" through the forums to find something that is interesting for me and my job. (What would take up a LOT more time)
Or... ... I'll have to have "the Digest" send to my home address and forward it to my job ... hehe ...

Keep up the good work !!!

Friendly greetings !
