-Knowledge of machinery and/or fluid power relating to heavy machinery
-Ability to perform field inspections and specialty construction inspection
-Familiarity with American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards

SOFTWARE SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
CAD proficiency, MathCAD, and Microsoft Excel

The Mechanical Engineering Department of EC Driver & Associates in Tampa, FL (part of URS Corporation) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Professional to become part of a multi-disciplined team providing consulting services in the area of mechanical design projects and tasks. This position will be part of a team of engineers and will report to the Electrical/Mechanical Department Manager. Being a diverse organization, the individual in this role will also interact with our Bridge/Structural and Permitting departments.

Position Description:

• Assist with project management and coordination by managing design projects and/or mechanical design tasks
• Provide direction to Staff Engineers in the development of plans, specifications and calculations
• Participate in field inspections
• Contribute to project meetings involving other members of the design team and clients

This role will involve regular travel to project and client sites, including some out-of-town travel.
