A recient batch of responses about the "inch' being legally redefined was interesting and I thought I archived a link to it. I can't find it and it is driving me crazy. I don't have a clue what the prime topic of the posting was, but within the responses were some facts and opinions about the inch to mm conversion. It was interesting that someone seems to have stated that surveyors currently use a different "inch" than the rest of us.
It does not seem to be the "NASA Switch to Metric" story, the "Problems With Pi" story, or anything else that I can find in my history.
Years ago I got a bit upset when I needed to do some accurate calculations and I found three different definitions for "nautical mile". This is similar issue and I wanted to click on the references that were given.
Please help,
Thanks,
Bruce
